Note: This Concerto is originally composed for string orchestra, and is written in A-major. The arrangement is transposed to F-major due to instrumental reasons. All parts for 4 bassoons & contrabassoon + score are included!​

Info: This piece has a big basso profondo part, the most essential part in this arrangement is therefore the Contrabassoon part. If possible, the Contrabassoon part can be played on / doubled by a Subcontrabassoon.

Info: "Chanson de la Folle au Bord de la Mer" ("Song of the Madwoman on the Seashore") is the 8th Prelude in Alkan's "25 Preludes, Op. 31". It's a very deep and melancholic piece of music, with a long build up resulting in an eruption of emotional frustration; it eventually calms down and ends the same melancholic and silent way it started.
